By St Andrew's Secondary School Carntyne:
On Tuesday 10th June St Andrew’s Secondary School won the Glasgow Bar Debating Competition at Glasgow Sheriff Court. The team of two 2nd year students Luke Gormley and Christopher Cummiskey successfully argued against the motion :
“This house believes that young people have too many rights and too few restrictions”.
The schools represented in the final were Hutcheson’s Grammar School, Boclair Academy, Abronhill High School, Inverclyde Academy and St Columba’s School. Sara Matheson, President of the Glasgow Bar Association, presented the trophies and complimented all of the participating schools on the high quality of the debate and the impressive individual competence of each speaker.
